Scale & Proportion

Exaggeration Scale- When small objects, or subjects, are magnified, appearing bigger than they usually are.

As you can see, a snake usually does not appear that large, but because of the exaggerated scale, it is.

Hierarchic scaling- The size of the figure determine importance.

As you can see above, the Kingly figure in the middle is slightly larger than the other figures around him, drawing your eyes to him first.

Surrealism- An artistic style that stressed a subconscious approach, often resulting in images that cannot be explained.

This image cannot be explained and seems to be in a strange alien world. Thus surrealism.
